Access the official course
Create or sign in to the State of Nevada Notary Public Training Site and select the traditional notary course required for the filing. The portal currently displays a $45 traditional-training charge.
Use the applicant’s own identity and retain account credentials until the application is complete. An unofficial course does not satisfy the statutory requirement.
Course and exam sequence
Work through the required modules covering NRS Chapter 240, duties, certificates, identification, journals, fees, misconduct, and commissioning procedure. Complete the examination after the training modules.
Follow the portal’s current scoring, attempt, and navigation instructions. The course and exam are parts of one required completion process.
Save acceptable completion proof
The official portal tells successful users to save a PDF or screenshot of training/exam completion. Verify that the proof identifies the applicant and completion date.
Upload it with the commission filing. NAC 240 provides a 90-day validity period, so delay can force an applicant to repeat the current requirement.
Renewal and electronic-notary training
Renewing traditional notaries also complete the applicable mandatory course and exam before filing. Select the correct course for the actual transaction.
Electronic-notary registration has additional education and registration requirements. Traditional completion alone does not authorize electronic or remote acts.
